Tang Yuan at Sugar Dynasty

Do you know why desserts are so unique ? Because spelled backwards, it is actually stressed and this is when you need desserts to do just the trick. It's not like I'm having stress now, but I've always known for having a sweet tooth, which makes me work harder on brushing my teeth.
It was 9.30 pm and we were greedily hunting for desserts after finishing our dinner. As we were just in the town area, we decided to travel back in time to a dynasty where it is called - Sugar Dynasty (Tang Chao).

The interior featured a really simple and welcoming look. Installed with wifi and being able to accommodate only a few tables, this place seemed ideal to spend an idle hour over for leisure and relaxation.

As the name Sugar Dynasty suggests, this is a place that offers extensive types of desserts ranging from warm to chilled or even herbal. While waiting for our orders, I was given the opportunity to snap a few shots from behind the scenes - the kitchen. The staffs and the owner were very friendly as they informed me that their kitchen was a little messy and jokingly asked me to edit the photos before uploading them.

Tang Yuan is traditional food symbolic to the Chinese. It is made of glutinous rice flour and to be made into shapes of balls with or without fillings inside.

This is the Almond Paste Snow Fungus. To be honest, it was hard to tell the exact taste of it. A little almond flavour was detected followed by hints of milky kind of sweetness. My friend tried it and she didn't like it, probably because the strong fragrance of the almond mixing up with something else. In case like this, I find it  hard to tell whether I like it or not, so I'll give it a yellow light which is between the green and red light.   - 6.0

Now this dessert is a common delicacy, we all know too well. Si Ke Ting (name as in the menu) or also known as White Fungus Dessert on the other hand had a distinctive taste. It was sweet and delectable, with dozens of white fungus and jellies swimming inside.  - 7.5

After having appetizing warm desserts, we decided to turn the table around by having something cold and icy. It was this -  Mango Sago which relished our confidence about this place. It was really mouthwatering and each bite is filled with remarkable sweetness and satisfaction. And we were like thinking, the four of us should have ordered this, though we ended up sharing it, it was still a joyful ride.   - 8.5

If you're wondering why there isn't any tang yuan, I must apologize. In fact, we did order a bowl of Peanut Crunch Tang Yuan which tasted slightly above average but somehow the photos got corrupted.

Nevertheless, if you're not into ordering Ginseng or Bird Nest over here, everything else seemed so affordable and good. They do also offer meals like fried rice and fried noodles to be savored as your dinner.
